GDSC Lead Process 2023–24

Jul 24, 2023

A little bit of background. Our college did not have any pre-existing Google Developer Student Club. So naturally I was the first GDSC lead on our campus (2023–24). For over a year, I have actively engaged in tech communities, organizing diverse events and hackathons, delivering impactful speeches as an invited speaker, and facilitating workshops. You can connect with your previous GDSC lead incase you have it pre-existing, for nomination code.

Now let’s get into the process :)
There were three rounds.
First round (deadline 31st Mar) - Here we had to fill in basic details with resume, answer a few community questions and submit a video as why should they choose you as a GDSC lead (link below for reference).
Second round (31st Mar) - After getting shortlisted from the first round, next we had to give an assessment (diagnostic test) which had basic questions from coding, computer architecture and a lot of behavioral questions(100 if I am not wrong).
Third round (9th May) - Next was the GDSC lead interview, where they ask about your community experience, technical projects and tech stack and give you hypothetical situations.

Key points to ace this round other than experience is how well you handle and present yourself. Highlight your strengths here (ideal: if you’re already an active part of communities and/or have tech stack aligned to Google technologies)Received final results on 16th July 🎉

Some memories from my tenure :)
